So, I was listening to Do As Infinity today and I wondered why I stopped listening to J-pop.

K-pop is great and all, but I feel the need to see what's good in the world of J-pop/rock these days. I checked the Oricon charts, but I'd like your opinion.

There's just so much old stuff to get around to.

I still keep up with Perfume, but aside from that I just come across random things. I'm still discovering new stuff from old artists, like YMO and their side projects covered a ton of music, or I'll go through my own history on Last.fm and rediscover something I forgot about.

Yeah.

I am also going through youtube, discovering old stuff from our high school days. It feels like my j-pop fandom is stuck in that period of time.

I spent a few hours going through Last.fm.

Wow..what a fun adventure. I found lots of Chinese pop from the time when I was trying to get it with this girl at university. haha

I think the only new J-Rock I listened to this year was Indigo La End. They're solid. I haven't really listened to enough to gush over them.

The lead singer's other group Gesu no Kiwami Otome is good, too. A little more eclectic. I think I have a crush on the drummer.

Does anyone listen to Japanese music here? Does anyone read this forum? I need some recommendations!

I also like this group Passepied (パスピエ). The singer sounds like a cartoon and I don't want to like that, but they are good enough that I do like it.

Rather than smile, or a kiss, let's beat them with a love beam move!
