The general consensus on what happened with basketball is that the NBA is very lax on refereeing for the sake of "putting on a show", and is more "style over substance". The rest of the world, on the other hand, got serious with the game in order to move up in skill.
Does it make you happy you're so strange?

Yeah. Japan making it to the Olympic hockey tournament is pretty amazing!

I'm really tired of Canada vs. USA finals with the women.

I'd happily relinquish Canada's women's hockey gold medal if it meant a country like Japan could win.

I'm also happy that they showed some of the non US events. Seeing this Japan vs. Russia game was unexpected.

I've heard Olympics coverage in the US is pretty bad. It was terrible in Korea too (the same event on the 4 major broadcasters..eh?).

On CBC.ca, we could watch every event. Not all had commentary, but it gives you options. I wish I watched Japan vs. Russia.

Yeah, I complained a lot about the US coverage, but we had different coverage on at most 3 different cable channels simultaneously. One Channel focused on the big prime time events, another only on hockey and another on curling <3. We could also watch that same online coverage (not always with a commentator) online if you could prove you subscribed to cable.
I was lucky enough to spend last weekend in Japan, and coverage was far, far worse. They would endlessly repeat the events they metaled in, and occasionally show live events only focused on Japanese athletes.

I wish I watched Japan vs. Russia.

Check your coverage online. NBC still has all the events online.

I wish someone woulda got this practice session Japan used to play grab-ass on the ice.

With practice sessions like that, it's no wonder they won gold.

Oh, wait..
