It's a loan company called "Won Cashing" as in Korean Won.

Anyway, it's always in my head. Their tagline is 빨리십분 - "fast, ten minutes" (or something like that). So whenever I tell someone I need something in a certain time, I yell 빨리십분! "bbal-li ship-bun!"

It's amused me for months. Hasn't gotten old (for me anyway, for my girlfriend, maybe)

I remember it because it was one that I was excited about for some reason. It was shorter than our normal episode, and you said it would be our "Lost Episode" and you never distributed it.

Now fully hosted and controlled by us, meaning I'll have no storage space issues and will be able to do a lot more things should I want to. Such as, for example, have one main feed where you can subscribe to all of the shows as one podcast, or get any particular shows we do individually.

Question! Does anybody out there have morning radio episode 04? For some reason, it is now totally missing from the Libsyn feed, and I don't have it on my computer either. If you subscribed back in the day, and still have the podcasts, you should have episode 04. (Unless... did we never do an episode 04?) If you have it, PLEASE get me a copy of the mp3 file, along with the show notes, so I can get it up as a back episode.

Well yeah, I had those 2 episodes on my laptop for a few months, but never got to them because of that first episode made me think this round wasn't going to be any good. And I read your message just minutes before I boarded a 4 hour flight -- with in-flight power! Woo!

Wow, the first episode of season 2 was pretty lame, but episodes 2 and 3 are great!

Yeah, you bet she looks better with curled hair, and now she's even all tanned (like a shibuya girl!)

And OMG, I don't ever want to play "poka" (poker) with anyone other than Erika Toda!!! She totally redefines poker faces! Plus all those poker terms all "engrished". I'm gonna have a REALLY hard time deleting that episode!

I would watch it again with you if I have the time! I couldn't help but watch the whole thing at once!

The only other series I saw Erika in was Gal Circle, and I didn't really like her character in that, either. She does act a lot more cutesy in Liar Game Season 2, so I think you'll like her more. Honestly, I gotta say my favorite character in Liar Game is Fukunaga. He really exemplifies the over-the-topness of the series.

(Reading this thread again, I sure acted like I liked the first season. It has it's flaws, but when I think back, I couldn't help but keep watching, which is a lot more than I can say about other dramas I've watched recently. Never finished Lunch Queen, didn't feel like bothering with the special episode of Hana Kimi, blah blah.)

I appriciate the encouragement! I wasn't too motivated to get started with the second season.

HOWEVER, I take back everything I said about Erika Toda (the Liar Game girl). I watched "Death Note" on the plane back from Japan... Netflix had been saying I was gonna love it, but I didn't believe it. I shoulda listed. She stars as an Idol that goes by "Happy Sweets" (!!!), so they make her all cute-n-stuff.

So yeah, it's time for more. Thanks Dunlap!!!

I finished watching the second season yesterday.

I don't know whether it was me knowing what I was getting into or the show changing, but I liked it a lot more than the first season! Toda Erika looks better with wavy hair, and her character is just a little less stupid than in the first season. She actually picks up on details and comes up with her own ideas a couple times. She's still trusting to a fault, but she's improved. It still cut to every character's face before every action and gave repetitious explanations, but I didn't feel like it dragged as bad as the first season did, though, like I said, I may have just came into it with a different attitude. My main gripe is the final game was a rehash, the rules were very hard to follow, and the conflict with Katsuragi didn't seem that important or resolved when it was all done. All in all, though, I'm looking forward to the movie.

Just a heads up, new capsule album out today! I've only heard one track so far, Love or Lies, which is the theme song for the seconds season of Liar Game. Sounds the same as what they've been doing recently, so I'm sure the rest will be fine!

My guess is "no", but you probably encounter similarities far more often than the average person.

I end up finding myself occasionally realizing one song has the exact same chord progression as another (essentially making them the same). But that happens rarely, and it's usually when it's Pachelbel's Canon gets remixed into some pop song.

So, actually... I'm going to be re-launching morning radio here soon. I've got a couple of the famous ex-GameFan folks wanting to do a podcast with me, so my ideas was to have morning radio not only host that podcast, but anything else as well. I know it's been ages since we've done this kind of stuff, but if there IS interest in doing some sort of semi-regular podcast again, it could be one of the shows on the feed.

This is coming as part of my hopeful relaunch of the site itself. At this point, I'm not going to say "it's going to happen," because I've said that too many times only to have things not work out. But, now that I'm jobless and not doing what I was doing, my ability to actually have interest in such things again is coming back. I just ended up getting so burned out on the whole website/content/etc. thing through Play that as much as I wanted to get this stuff whipped back into shape, I could never find the drive to do so.

I'm hoping that happens, but again, I'm not going to say that it is until I actually have something to show. The at-minimum one new podcast, however, is indeed happening.

As a wife... I have to give you a little opinion here. If I stumbled across something on the internet where my husband was saying "here's the nothing to hide report, I'll email you the details I don't want my wife to find out about" I would be much more suspicious (and hurt) than if he had just said what he had to say out in the open. So, unless your report includes details of you getting it on with underage schoolgirls (or various other illegal activities), I'm not entirely sure that I understand why you're keeping it secret. I suppose it could also be the situation that your wife is somehow completely oblivious and has no idea that her husband going to Tokyo alone means that he was probably busy checking out girls and spending copious amounts of money in maid cafes.

But, you know, feel free to keep the details of your trip a secret.

I would love to go to the Emperor's Palace and shrines (espcially Buddhist). How can you like Japan and not want to go to Mt. Fuji?? Which is in Shizuouka, not Tokyo.

So in the office today, I ask a co-worker about his trip to Tokyo a few months ago. He responded with those big eyes like "OMFG" and could barely manage to sum it up in the word "incredible". I asked him to elaborate a bit on what he did and what he recommended doing.

I was shocked and amazed to discover that I had no interest in a single thing he did.

On the way back I took the Keisei Skyliner to ICN from Ueno station because without the package, it was cheaper than N'EX.

Aw..The capsule hotel I stayed at in Akihabara closed down! It was so friendly and homey feeling. I was gonna recommend that.

I think I was there for 4 days (of my 1 month Asia trip) and accomplished quite a bit of exploring. Have fun!

I recommend the Suica + N'EX package for gaijin only. This gets you a trip on the airport train to Tokyo and a Suica (loaded with 2,000 yen) subway card for 3,500 yen.
